You keep him in perfect peace
whose mind is stayed on you,
because he trusts in you.
Isaiah 26:3

Perfect peace dwells within us the moment we receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior.  Jesus is called the Prince of Peace, and since we are royalty with Him and co-heirs of the Kingdom of God, peace is a God given fruit that we possess inside our spirit.  We often face circumstances that want to rob of us our peace, the enemy is always out to steal our peace, but we do not have to give our peace over to the enemy.  We are to pivot our thoughts and meditate on the Word of God, basking in His peaceful presence.  God talks about a peace that passes all understanding, that peace will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).  When we are attacked in our hearts and minds, God reassures us that he will guard us with His peace.  Peace, like a soothing, running river, can flow through us, into our hearts, and minds, anchoring us and bringing about well-being.  God’s peace is to be continuous and abundant in our lives, and just as the imagery of a river, nourishing and refreshing, it gives Him pleasure to allow peace to flow through us.  Take time each day to receive the life-giving peace that exists within you and is available at all times.  When we keep our minds stayed on God, trusting in His goodness and grace, our peace will flow like a river.  We will be kept in perfect peace.

Prayer

Heavenly Father of peace, remind me that whenever I am experiencing an attack from the enemy your peace is available to me at that moment.  Please help me to remain calm, gaining my courage from you, as you are my refuge and strength, an ever present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1).  Lord God, you bless me and keep me, your face shines upon me.  You are gracious to me, and You will give me peace (Numbers 6:24-26).  Thank you for being my Prince of Peace.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
